What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves to your device when you visit. They are widely used to help websites work properly, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners a picture of how their content is used. They do not contain personal data by themselves, but when combined with other information, they can be used to identify you.

Most browsers accept cookies by default, but you can adjust your browser settings to refuse them. Some parts of a website may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.

Cookies we use

Essential Cookies

These are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as remembering your cookie preferences. They do not store any personally identifiable information.

Always active — cannot be disabled

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. They help us identify which pages are visited most and how users move through the site, allowing us to improve the experience.

Example: Google Analytics page view tracking

Marketing Cookies

These may be set through our site by advertising partners. They can be used to build a profile of your interests and show relevant content on other sites. They do not store personal information directly, but work by identifying your browser and device.

Example: Facebook Pixel, advertising network tracking

Preference Cookies

These allow the website to remember choices you have made, such as your cookie settings or your region, and to provide enhanced, more personalised features as a result.

Example: remembered language or display preferences

Your Cookie Preferences

Use the toggles above to set your preferences, then save them using the buttons below. Your choices will be remembered for this browser.

Your preferences have been saved.

Third-party cookies

Some third-party services used on our website may set their own cookies. These may include:

  • Google Analytics — for website usage statistics (optional, analytics category)
  • Google Maps — for our location embed on the homepage (essential for map display)
  • Advertising networks — only if marketing cookies are enabled

We do not control the cookies set by these third parties. Please refer to their respective privacy and cookie policies for further information.

Cookie durations

Cookies fall into two broad categories by how long they last:

  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser. Used for basic site navigation.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period. Our cookie preference record is stored for twelve months. Analytics cookies typically expire within thirteen months.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers are below.

Google Chrome
Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. From there you can block third-party cookies, clear existing cookies, or add site exceptions. To delete all cookies, choose Clear browsing data and tick Cookies and other site data.
Mozilla Firefox
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. You can manage cookie storage, block cookies, or delete them by site. Firefox also offers Enhanced Tracking Protection which blocks many third-party tracking cookies by default.
Apple Safari
Go to Preferences → Privacy. You can choose to block all cookies or just cross-site cookies. To remove existing cookies, click Manage Website Data. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security.
Microsoft Edge

You have the right to withdraw your consent to non-essential cookies at any time by updating the toggles above or adjusting your browser settings. Please be aware that disabling some cookies may affect how the website functions.
